Some wedding days simply feel special from the very beginning. Sally and Miles’ beautiful celebration at Folly Farm was exactly that — a day filled with sunshine, laughter, heartfelt moments, and a wonderful sense of warmth from everyone involved.


Despite being the middle of February, the weather could not have been more perfect. Not a single cloud appeared in the sky all day, and by the evening I was even feeling a little sunburnt — something you certainly don’t expect at a winter wedding in Somerset!


Surrounded by the rolling countryside, Folly Farm provided a stunning backdrop for what turned out to be a truly memorable day.

A Slightly Husky Start to the Morning!


The morning preparations began with plenty of good humour — although the groom and his friends were perhaps feeling the effects of a late night together - a few slightly husky voices suggested the celebrations had already started the evening before!


Even so, spirits were high and there was plenty of laughter and energy as everyone got ready for the big day...

Sally Was Sensational!


Sally looked stunning when she stepped into her dress. Elegant, radiant, and clearly excited for the day ahead, she made a fabulous entrance when it came time for the ceremony.

A Ceremony With a Surprise Entrance



The ceremony itself took place inside the beautiful barn at Folly Farm, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere for the couple to exchange their vows.


But one of the most memorable moments came when two very special guests made an unexpected appearance.


Simba and Mala — the couple’s dogs — made a surprise entrance during the ceremony, proudly delivering the rings to Elliot, the best man. Wearing collar pouches and carrying out their duties with the seriousness of a pair of Alpine St Bernards, they stole the show and brought huge smiles from everyone watching.

Sunshine, Laughter and Celebrations


The drinks reception took place outside in the glorious sunshine. Guests relaxed across the beautiful grounds of Folly Farm, enjoying the unexpected February warmth while catching up with friends and family.

Remembering Someone Special


One particularly touching moment during the day was a photograph displayed in honour of Miles’ father, Colin.


Colin sadly passed away unexpectedly the year after I had been Miles’ form tutor when he was in Year 7 at All Hallows Prep School. I have very fond memories of him from those teaching days many years ago, so it was deeply moving to see him remembered during the celebrations.


Later in the evening I had a lovely conversation with Miles’ mum, Lisa, about him. She said how sad it felt that he had missed such a wonderful celebration. I suggested that perhaps he hadn’t missed it at all — that his legacy and presence could be felt all through day and given the astonishingly warm February sunshine, I couldn’t help feeling that perhaps he had something to do with that too!

Evening Entertainment and a Packed Dancefloor


As the evening celebrations began, the entertainment ensured the energy never dropped.


Guests were treated to a fantastic variety of performances throughout the evening — including a talented saxophonist, a magician who amazed guests with close-up card tricks, and a brilliant singing guitarist who kept the atmosphere lively.


Later on, the dancefloor filled as 'Freeze' took over, keeping everyone thoroughly entertained late into the night.

A Wonderful Wedding Day


Sally and Miles’ wedding was truly one of those days that reminds you why weddings are such a joy to photograph. From the heartfelt ceremony to the laughter-filled reception and energetic evening celebrations, every moment felt warm, genuine and full of life.
